Dr. Milana Frenkel-Morgenstern's group at the Azrieli Faculty of Medicine, Bar-Ilan University aims to identify unique potential drug targets in cancer cells, also known as “chimeric RNAs”. Her group catalogs these cancer-associated fusion transcripts, thereby analyzing the function of the proteins produced by the transcripts in order to identify those fusion events that are directly related to biochemical cell function.
Prof. Alfonso Valencia's BioComputational Group in CNIO is a multidisciplinary group and a part of the Structural Biology and Biocomputing Programme. The group includes people with background in experimental biology, computer science and mathematics, interested in understanding the chimeric RNAs and associated proteins in eukaryotic cells.
